The Executive secretary at the President office performs operational and administrative functions that require a thorough knowledge of University policies, procedures, and operations and an understanding of the University's role within the community. The Executive secretary has recurring contact with senior administrators and executives, public and private officials, the media, students, and parents. The Executive secretary exercises initiative and independent judgment in managing the President’s schedule and the office’s daily activities. The Executive secretary uses discretion in the dissemination of information to faculty, students, staff and the various publics served by the University and coordinates activities with several major subordinate administrative units of the University.
The Executive secretary will prepare reports as deemed by the President and assist in organizing the reports required by the regulatory bodies.

Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree, preferably in a business or IT-related field.
- At least three years of increasingly responsible secretarial or administrative experience is required which must include an extensive knowledge of general office procedures and practices and advanced experience in using Microsoft office products; Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project Management and Visio.
- Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills in Arabic and English are required; i.e., the ability to communicate effectively verbally and through written correspondence as well as in communicating with individuals in one-on-one situations.
- A precise command of grammar, punctuation, spelling, and the correct usage of the English language is required.
- Attention to detail is required. Adeptness with multitasking is required. Computer literacy is required and includes keyboarding ability and proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software.
- Excellent organizational skills are required. Must be able to work independently, use initiative, and make substantive decisions quickly.
- The ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures, religions and backgrounds is required.

Description: Description: The University of Modern Science (UMS) invites enthusiastic people for the full time position in the department of University Relations. The position responsibilities include – but not limited to- the followings under the guidance of the university strategy for outreach:

- Develop and implement internal and external communication plan to promote the academic programs (Undergraduate and postgraduate) and raise the awareness of the university initiative, research projects and developments plans.
- Lead a comprehensive marketing, communication, and public relation program.
- Develop and implement an electronic marketing program and oversee all social media marketing in the various areas of the university including but not limited to Enrollment and Recruitment.
- Develop professional quality written materials – communications, and articles.
- Represent the university to the press on public relations matters and oversee press release writing and issuance.
- Collaborate with the Admissions (Undergraduate & Graduate) and Registration offices to ensure consistent branding, uniform messaging, and prioritization of marketing efforts related to the recruitment of the prospective students.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, or related field is required.
- Minimum of five years of experience in communications, public affairs, or a related field is required.
- Demonstrated experience and comprehensive knowledge of communications, marketing, media, and public relations techniques and a track record of establishing and implementing integrated programs encompassing them.
- Advanced verbal communication skills and the ability to present effectively to small and large groups and gain buy-in and support for ideas.
- Strong time management skills, with attention to deadlines and ability to effectively handle multiple priorities concurrently.
- Strong knowledge of the effective use of social media in marketing and relations
- Willingness to assume a high level of responsibility and take initiative.
- Proven experience and success in marketing.
- Preference for a proven understanding of the current issues in higher education in UAE.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to interact with all levels of staff and external contacts; sensitive to cultural differences when working with people from other cultures; and ability to exercise discretion on confidential matters.
- Experience in the Middle East preferred.
